WebHaste is a CMS without databases or servers. Everyone on your team can install the extension, and the edit the same site folder on a shared drive or cloud storage. Or you can use git (see below) for even more control over user access, version histories and deployment.

Storing your project folder on a shared or cloud drive also gives you great backup capabilities.

Git With the Program

WebHaste is structured with Git repositories and deployment in mind. We recommend storing your site folder as a repo, and practicing regular commits. That gives you a robust disaster-recovery and backup mechanism.

If you use CI/CD pipelines to deploy your website, use WebHaste's static deployment (renders files on your machine), and then commit the site to Git to publish your changes.

Git also unlocks the ability to host your site directly on additional services like GitHub Pages and Render.

Yes! WebHaste is the best website editor for Chromebooks! Unless your chromebook is locked down by your school or organization, in which case you'll need to talk to your system administration about getting access.
Will my site be SEO/GEO-optimized?
WebHaste bakes in many standard optimization practices for search engines and AI agents when your site is published, including a sitemap.xml file, meta descriptions, OpenGraph/Twitter tags and organizational schema markup.
Can my site have search?
Yes, WebHaste creates a search index during its site-generation step by default, whether you use search or not. This file is deployed automatically and optimized for Lunr.js. Read more about this very capable client-side search.
What AI tools can I use to manage my website?
You can use Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Cursor and similar tools to edit/manage your site directly (desktop apps may need a connector to access your computer files). You also can use hosted AI tools like Lindy, Copy.ai, Jasper, Grammarly, Sintra and Marblism to create or edit content via copying/pasting formatted text or HTML code.
